Childcare in australia

Australia visa, nursery and childcare for immigrants

Nurseries and childcare in Australia for immigrants moving to Australia

Something on the mind of anyone moving to Australia with children (or thinking of children), is what to do about the nursery - which is called childcare or 'kindy' (kindergarten) in Australia.

It's an important piece of reassurance. Getting a visa to Australia with a Australia visa agency assessment is one thing, but once you go to actually move, live and work in Australia, then you need to deal with the practicalities of emigration to Australia.

Here is one perspective of someone who emigrated to Australia, and how they find out about childcare in Australia.

Thanks to ASA Consultants, we had our Australian visa. As all people moving to Australia know, it is not that easy - but it is worth it. We have never thought about it since - we know we made the right decision, and are very happy to be a part of Australia now.

So how did we go about finding childcare for our kids in Australia?

Well, we moved to Perth, but the case is very similar everywhere. By which I mean that you will not find any or much decent info online.

However that is not a problem.

Your first thing to do is to decide what suburb sounds nice, by looking on realestate.com or you can speak to your ASA consultants if you have appointed them.

If at all possible, don't fret about it. You can just rent somewhere for your first year - which will fly by - and most suburbs in Australian cities are really nice anyway.

Within the suburbs themself, there are loads of childcare centres tucked away within the street areas. So after you have moved there, you will actually notice the signs for childcare centres. Then you can go and have a look around and speak to the teachers there and get a feel for the place.

In Perth, our kids went to Jacarandas. They are safe, accountable, friendly, experienced ... all you want in a nursery or childcare centre, and we recommend them as the best childcare place in Perth that we found. Google Jacaranda and you can find more.

Having somewhere to drop off the kids is vital, so you can get around and explore or have job interviews or whatever in the daytime. The cost is probably the same as any other first world or first class childcare in other countries. So try not to worry about it while you are getting your visa to Australia. The Australian skilled visa, or spouse visa or whichever is just one thing, and of course the Australia visa application process takes time.

Once you are there, give yourself a lot of time to explore and settle down, meeting as many people as you can.
